Short answer: Revenue Procedure 2026-24 sets the 2027 HSA and HDHP figures, but we found no IRS announcement of the 2027 health FSA salary-reduction limit or carryover as of October 17, 2026. The latest official figures are for 2026: $3,400 salary reduction and $680 maximum carryover (Revenue Procedure 2025-32). Don't treat them as 2027 limits.

Evidence level: the "not yet announced" status comes from web search results dated October 4 to 15, 2026 (employer and benefits sites); we did not find a primary IRS statement saying "not announced". The IRS usually publishes annual adjustments in the autumn (secondary source).

What to check during open enrollment

  1. Your plan's 2027 limit: employers may publish "to be confirmed" figures.
  2. Whether your plan offers carryover or a grace period (a plan can't offer both, per Publication 969 as summarised in our other guide: carryover vs grace period).
  3. If you have an HSA, whether you need a limited-purpose FSA (guide).
  4. How to change your election if the limit is announced after you elect. Rules vary by employer; check your plan documents.

Our update plan

We will update this page when the IRS publishes the figure. We use "expected" for anything not yet announced.
